I had Chris create a website and manage SEO for me since 2018/2019 until March 03 2024. He did a reasonable job for for a couple years, then I noticed that his company was not putting that much effort into our SEO as our stats were not performing that well. We decided to go with another SEO company. Chris did help with some of the transition, but I found out that he hosted our website that he built with one of his suppliers/servers/hosting companies. Prior to this, he also put the our domain/website ownership in his name. During our transition to the other company, Chris did allow me to forgo the 30 days notice that would be actually 2/3 days since I informed him on March 3, 2024 and he bills in advance. I was already billed for March in the prior month. Then the billing amount was reduced and I didn't catch this. He continued to bill on dates below for 2024: March 3, 1402.50 March 20, $1602.50 April 3, $1402.50 April 20, 1602.50 May 20, 1602.50 I had informed him of these overages a while back and he was gonna get back to me. I run a medical clinic in Mississauga and am rather busy, not putting a stop or disputing the charge when it happened was definitely my fault as this would have be resolved by the credit card he was taking these charges from. I followed up with him last on the week on Aug. 18, 2025 providing all the information required. He said he would look into it as he said in the past. Now it seems he asked me to resend him my email cancelling our agreement back in March, 2024, which he said at the time I didn't have to nor did he ask for it when I first informed him of the over charges. He has blocked my number as it goes straight to voice mail repeatedly. I call with a blocked number and it rings and eventually goes to voicemail which he does not return my calls, emails/text. I will be paying him a visit at his office today to get some resolution. Chris comes across as a nice guy, quick talker. But my experience was that he is sketchy in the way he does what he does. Having ownership of a domain, that I paid for and putting it in his name, move my hosting to his server (he is a reseller of this service). He gave all the excuses in the world when this happened, but it goes to show his morals in business. When you pay for something, it goes into your client's name, simple. If you move hosting companies, that the real owner has no power getting information because it is in Chris's company name is not good business practice. Blocking and not responding to a company that you continued to charge for 3 months after, hmmm that to me is an oversight (maybe) but when you avoid the situation, I would call it THEFT/ FRAUD period. Be cautious with Chris and his company. Better yet, be on the safe side and just DON'T do business with CHRIS.
