Wow, where do I start? I will get half a star. If I can fill that in instead of a whole star, this has been the worst experience of my life and I know of my son‘s life that has ever happened as with Bethesda North Hospital I have never seen lazier nurses that don’t want to do anything because I was asking about pain meds for my son that were late really late. I got written up like a two-year-old and because I called today because I couldn’t get there because of snow and my son told me he couldn’t breathe he needed suction out. I called the nurse Emily to get him suction She never sucks in him so I called the charge nurse Alan and and this is in critical care. I see you at Bethesda North Hospital and Alan told me I’m not my privileges for seeing my son are gone. I’m no longer allowed to see my son. they have not taken care of him. His legs are dropping and nobody’s ever done anything he’s supposed to get done. He’s got bed sores the size of a table plates on his butt. He’s been there going on five months. He can’t breathe because of the bacteria he caught from the hospital. He can barely use his hands. He pukes nonstop. He’s been backed up with human poop for 11 days coming out of openings all over him and you know what they’re doing nothing they banned me from coming. I’m trying right now to get him moved to another hospital if you love someone and care about them, don’t take them here. I had a good experience with the nurse Rachel good experience with Blake good experience with Wendy a good experience with Annie and that is it the rest of her lazy they don’t wanna do anything they sit and play on their phones. There’s one nurse every two patients and my son has bedsore the size of dinner plates on his butt. He’s got poop coming out of everywhere in his body backed up because he’s got a hole in his colon it’s been there for 10 days now that nobody’s gonna fix. He can barely hold his hands up now he’s so weak he pukes nonstop, green bile. It is a pork excuse for a hospital. They shouldn’t be in business. I’ve never seen lazier nurses Matthew. Staley doesn’t wanna hear anything about anybody doing anything wrong with his staff he doesn’t believe anything. The people say he believes it’s horrible nurses that sit and play on their phone all day and you have to go out and haul and hunt someone down. My son was afraid to press the call button because they would yell at him and not want to suction them out when he couldn’t breathe. This is a poor excuse for a hospital I’ve ever been in my life the nurses but the ones I mentioned are awful. They are beyond lazy. I am getting ready to file a lawsuit against this place. It is awful and civil suits against everybody else. They tried to keep me from seeing my son because they don’t wanna do their job because it’s pathetic. It’s a poor excuse for a hospital. They shouldn’t be open the worst experience me and my son I’ve ever had he’s 10 times worse than he was when he got there.

Shawna has been my nurse many times over the past 3 weeks of being in the ICU. She has brought laughter while drying my tears and calming my fears. She explains things in the way to myself and my family that makes sense to us, she is compassionate , kind and understanding. Although I'm not going home anytime soon, I am happy I will have a nurse like Shawna to look after me.

Garrett has been my Mama's nurse for the past 3 weeks while she has been in the intensive care unit. He has gone above and beyond any expectations of what a nurse should be. He is kind and patient and compassionate.. which is something that is rare in the medical field as they see so much trauma and tend to become numb to it. He has given hope and happiness and compassion to not only my mama but to her whole family. His positivity and uplifting personality has not been taken for granted and has been greatly appreciated by us all. The Johnson Family

I was admitted into the hospital for an acute need for surgery on 12/11/2025. I was treated horribly by a few nurses and staff members during my stay. I’ve delivered 3 children at this hospital years ago and had nothing but great things to say about my stay. I never thought that I would be treated with lack of empathy and compassion during my most recent visit. One of the RN nurses (Alora) and some of the staff on the 8th floor of the hospital were dismissive with me. I cried so much because the staff members cut me off numerous times whenever I had a question. They hung up the nurse line before I finished a sentence. I wasn’t offered water or ice cubes for hours. I was told that they couldn’t offer me anything because they thought I was going to have surgery later in the night. Long story short. The surgery wasn’t done. I wasn’t treated fairly. None of the staff members offered me water… not even ice cubes to help with my dehydration. They stuck me multiple times and blew my veins in the process of trying to draw my blood. That is a hard thing to do if the patient is dehydrated. I haven’t eaten on the 11th since 8am. I wasn’t offered water or ice cubes until after 10:30-11pm. I wasn’t given an IV until after 10pm. I was finally told that I could eat only before midnight. I called the nurse line and asked what items did they have for me to eat since the kitchen was now closed. They gave me plenty of excuses and delayed my ability to eat a meal from the kitchen. The kitchen closed at 8pm. I told them that I was a pescatarian. The nurse on the phone line cut me off before I could finish my sentence. Then, a nurse or nurse’s aide came in with a turkey sandwich and jello. I told her that I couldn’t eat that because I am a pescatarian. I told her that I don’t understand why they didn’t tell me what they had available instead of bringing random items into the room without asking me what I wanted. There was options available for me. The nurse or nurse’s aide left out of the room with an attitude. She did not return. I called again on the nurse line and asked for the head nurse in charge. The head nurse came in and got a salad for me and offered me water. She apologized. I had to literally rush to put something on my stomach. I was pregnant and neglected basic necessities for hours. One of the head nurses said that she read my chart and wondered “why are they starving this girl?”. I was deeply concerned and asked for someone higher up to help me with my questions and concerns. Nicole and Tara (the head nurse) treated me well. She put me at ease and treated me with the utmost respect. We need more of her in the healthcare industry. My surgery occurred at 2:45pm the next day. Some of the nurses weren’t empathetic to me or what I went through. I was discharged on the 13th. I couldn’t wait to get out of the hospital. I felt mistreated. I wanted everyone to know what I went through. I never want anyone to go through what I did. I would greatly appreciate if someone would contact me about the mistreatment that took place. Thanks!

I was taken to Bethesda North on11/22 This morning with very high blood pressure and very dizzy. I was immediately taken to the examination room, no wait. I was treated so professionally and they expedited the examination. The doctor (Ed Morris )was very caring and explained everything in great detail to me and my wife.

In MSICU with nurse Jodi and was treated poorly and unprofessionally when asking why there was a stool-soiled purewick next to oral suction tube, trash all over the floor along with syringes, caps and trash in bed under patients arms and a plastic bottle of mucus shoved between two others instead of thrown out. Also the wash basin with wet towels were sitting the garbage can like they were going to use them again. Has a full urine container that should’ve been thrown out since another is actually in place. Asked for suction and got sharp responses and when asked if she was night shift coming on she said “no, why?” Very combative in every response. When asked to speak to charge nurse she threw trash bag on the floor and stormed out saying “fine”. Have not seen anything like that here before or with any other members of the staff EVER. Very disheartening.

Every time i come to the er we have to wait multiple hours, regardless of how serious of an issue we have. They just dont have enough er beds, but this, ontop of rude staff/reception, and insanely overcharged prices is crazy. Other hospitals are at least cheaper and dont make you wait 3 hours for anaphylaxis or possible heart attack. Dont go to this er. Seriously ever. A girl was having a seizure next to us and the family member was yelling for help and 2 minutes later a nurse casually walks over and proceeds to do nothing to help, they went to a different hospital, we did too and were in a rook in less than 15 minutes…
