The staff at labor and delivery unit are awesome. Every one does their job with the utmost professionalism and respect. You can definitely see they love their job. Special shout out to Monet and team. That being said, it's very important that patients stay on top of their next medication since nurses tend to forget. I assume it's because of the large workload they have. Grubhub guest ordering experience is also confusing , and I didn't get one of my meals delivered.

We went to the Emergency Department yesterday because my wife was experiencing severe stomach pain that she has had for three weeks. While we were seen relatively quickly at first, the quality of care after that was deeply concerning. The doctor discharged her without a clear diagnosis, explanation, or meaningful plan for follow-up, despite the severity and duration of her symptoms. Less than 24 hours later, we had to return to the ER because my wife vomited blood, a frightening and serious symptom. Once back in the emergency room, we waited six hours without seeing a doctor, and our repeated attempts to get updates or assistance from nurses were largely ignored. After six hours with no medical evaluation and no sense of urgency by the emergency room staff and doctors, we felt we had no choice but to leave and go to another hospital’s emergency department, hoping they would take my wife’s condition more seriously and provide the care she urgently needed. An emergency room should prioritize patient safety and careful medical judgment, not just quick intake and discharge. Being sent home without answers and then left waiting for hours while symptoms worsened is unacceptable. I would strongly caution others to advocate aggressively for themselves or their loved ones if seeking care here, especially for ongoing or escalating symptoms.

I will never go to this Er again. I went for a fall injury that had gotten worse. Was there only an hour and x rays were done. Maybe 20 minutes after I was told I was being discharged. No medication management during visit and didn’t tell me my x rays were good until I said something. Dr Robert E, PA-C was rude and dismissive. Told me that if I didn’t stop questioning him I could leave! I was only advocating for myself

I received outstanding care when I came into the ER around 3 am with Rapid AFIB. Within minutes of coming in I was being treated and admitted to observation unit. I can’t say enough about everyone from cleaning to food service, techs, nursing staff and various resident specialists including cardiology, endocrine, anesthesiologist and various attending. Multiple contributing medical issues were addressed, medicine changes and cardio version by mid day then shortly home. Thank you all for putting me back in operational status!!!

This morning was my second time going there and I live in Glen Burnie aac. I personally prefer Howard county hospital because it’s clean, fast, nice staff, but the only thing I can say is the emergency room has an weird odor, i personally feel like they need a big air purifier to help with the smell. I was in there for only 2 hours compared to 7&half hours!!!

They have one of the best nurses I’ve ever encountered, she’s so smart, kind and very attentive. Olivia is very skilled and very good with people and especially kids. She knows exactly how to deal with each patient, she’s very good at her job. She’s excited about doing her job and she does it well. Olivia definitely is born for this type of job, she would do well with any situation. Keep up the good work guys keep hiring the young aspiring nurses. Great work team.

Horrible experience. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone, this was also my first time and definitely my last time. All this over abdominal pains. This is one of the worst hospitals in the state and my worst experience to date. Unprofessional staff , doctors don’t anything for patients. Got to hospital around 230pm Christmas Day never got properly treated for over the 5-6 hours I was there. Not to mention Khan Maimoona, MD already had her mind made up of how I was gonna treated before she even saw me. With no other options or alternative solutions. So no proper treatment for pain was given. I had to be the angry black man and make a scene in order for me to be heard. I was told that I could have asked for a new provider but wasted told till after my first discharge. So I had to go thru the steps of being a patient all over again. Asked several times to speak with a charger nurse or supervisor was never seen by one. The doctor gave me meds that are typically given to someone with kidney stones or kidney issues. None of which I had. Explained that after an hour of the medication that it did not take to my pain. As my pain increased the doctor followed up by trying to give me the same medicine again. With my stomach pains typically comes some nausea and vomiting. So Khan Maimoona, MD proceeded to give oral pain meds to a patient with potential vomiting. I don’t know where yall finds these janky doctors but they not real doctors, specifically Khan Maimoona, MD should by striped of her medical license. In conclusion I was literally played around with 7 hours of my day with no positive results. Literally left out the hospital worse than when I came in. I feel sorry for anyone who has to use this hospital as there main, good luck……

Google Review Stephen Wallis December 22, 2025 Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center 5755 Cedar Ln, Columbia, MD 21044 I recently experienced a left-eye medical emergency, requiring my wife and I to seek medical attention. We initially went to a neighborhood urgent care facility, which wisely advised us to seek further review and treatment at the Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. We entered the hospital’s Emergency Room and greeted the receptionist. She was pleasant and provided some initial in-take paperwork to be completed. We proceeded to take seats in the waiting area along with a number of other individuals. Unfortunately the area smelled of what I recognized as a malodorous landscape outdoor deer repellent, along with the equally unpleasant and offensive stench of marijuana. Not certain what the hospital or any business establishment can do about an environment that has to be shamefully unpleasant for the medical center’s working staff. Aside from the noxious funk of the waiting room, our experience with nurses, technicians, and doctors was entirely positive, and we found the entire staff to be warm, welcoming, and attentive. The wait time was just a few minutes, when a nurse called my name and accompanied us to the patient area. She took blood pressure and heart rate readings, asking relevant health questions. The patient in-take doctor was equally warm, professional, and thorough. I was escorted to a patient treatment cubicle, where the various nurse assistants/technicians were pleasant and professional, preparing me for additional blood pressure reading and EKG/heart monitoring. I was then wheeled into the radiology area for diagnostic brain scan imaging. Again, the technician was pleasant, welcoming, competent, appearing to be on top of her job. The emergency room seemed busy with fire department medics appearing every few minutes. Additionally, there were a couple of “Code Blue” announcements over the intercom system, so having to wait awhile for a doctor was most understandable. We waited for approximately an hour or more for the doctor to see me, but the wait was well worth her stating that tests were negative. She, too, was pleasant, thoughtful, smart, appearing to be equally on top of her game. I received top quality medical attention and service, and I will remain thankful and appreciative that I received such care at the hands of each of the staff members at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. Other than the disappointing--and seemingly unhealthy-- encounter with the poor air quality in the emergency room patient area, as well as the possible need for additional doctors on staff to handle the number of emergency room visits by the community, the actual quality performance of staff and first-rate medical attention to this patient was outstanding and, again, most appreciated. Anyone requiring hospital emergency room attention at this medical center can expect to be in good hands.

I visited the ER yesterday for very bad back pain. The wait honestly wasn’t bad. I like how bags are checked prior to coming in for every one’s safety. I mainly came to say that every nurse I’ve came in contact with was amazing! Everyone got along well and they actually showed that they care and that means a lot. Thank you for taking care of me! You guys are awesome ❤️

Kind and professional staff. From the lobby security guard, signing in, to triage, to registration(he pronounced both my grandson and my name correctly), to nurse Noelle (who placed us in a separate smaller waiting room-kind of like an "express room" for patients with minor medical concerns) My grandson had a rash and Dr. Paul Tarectecan was very kind and spoke directly to my grandson in a calm and caring voice. He took the time answer my questions. We were in this "express room" for about 20 minutes. It was a positive experience for us both.
