My experience in the Emergency Room at Henry Ford Hospital was extremely disappointing. The area was not clean, and there was a strong, unpleasant odor throughout. Especially in the ER—you expect a clear sense of cleanliness and the smell of proper disinfection, not the opposite. The level of hygiene was unacceptable, and the environment made me feel uncomfortable and concerned. Honestly, it felt like a place that could make patients feel worse rather than help them recover. Cleanliness and sanitation are basic standards for any emergency department, and this experience did not meet them at all. This needs immediate attention and serious improvement. |

The ICU took exceptional care of my Mother Maelene Hunter Feb.23 thru March 2 the day my mom passed. They were thoughtful and caring. They showed respect for my mom and because they knew my mother did not have long they allowed us to stay with her around the clock and they allowed our family to come in, in larger numbers. I cannot convey how grateful I am to Mattie, Courtney, Emily, Bob, and Twanikaw(spelling). With all my heart Thank you. |

Recently went to visit dad and could not find his room number for the life of us. A worker I believe worked in dietary by the name of Felicia, was so pleasant and willing to assist us. Walked us all the way to the other side of hospital to make sure we found our dad’s room. Thank you Felicia your the best We wouldn’t of been NO WHERE without you :-) |

This review is for the actual hospital. Henry Ford has some of the top specialist in the country. My mom has had heart procedures here and I just had a brain procedure. I absolutely love the staff, everyone is friendly, polite and professional. I'm not referring to the ER here that place is a hot mess and it's expected in a teaching hospital in the hood. The hospital part is a palace compared to the ER! 💯 |

I can’t thank this hospital enough for everything they did for my mom. Especially the ICU, Section 6 — I am truly grateful for every nurse and doctor who took care of her. Beyond the medical care, the humanity, compassion, and kindness they showed meant everything to us during such a difficult time. I feel very blessed that God saved my mom, and I truly believe it was through their dedication, patience, and genuine care that she was able to get better. Thank you to every nurse, every doctor, and every single person who helped my mom along the way. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. |

I recently had a complex pelvic plastic surgery at Henry Ford Hospital. Henry Ford is one of two hospitals in the state and one of a limited number of hospitals in the Midwest where this procedure is performed and it is one of the best. After my surgery, I spent four days and three nights on P6 Surgical Specialty for the acute phase of my recovery. I had a wonderful experience there. My surgeons were excellent. Highly skilled and empathic, they had fantastic bedside manner and checked in on me often. My surgical outcome was ideal. I experienced minimal pain from the minute I hit the PACU and I reached all my recovery milestones on schedule. My nursing team was the greatest! Shout outs to Kaitlyn, Shelby, Ronnie, Stephanie and my specialty nurse Briar! And to all the other nursing assistants, nutrition folks, custodians and transporters who took such good care of me. I wish I could recognize every single person. The facilities were nice, clean and modern, the food was good and I was discharged with all the information and supplies that I needed for aftercare. Every interaction I have had with Henry Ford from the lab to imaging to surgery to the pharmacy has been nothing but thorough, professional and caring. I live near Ann Arbor but I only go to Henry Ford for my medical care. The best is worth the trip. |

The 5th floor nurses and staff are wonderful people. I was in their care for 9 days and I felt like I was at the spa. Excellent care was given by all involved. Dr. Tanaka has a God given talent and fantastic bedside manner. |

Absolutely great security Star program. At Emergency entrencs and front desk. Great treatment from all. Nurse Lauren-18099 was exceptional. Went beyond what I would call great nursing. Case Manager RN Jill Z. Was also highly professional and had the patients best interest at heart. Thanks to all! |

I don’t know where to begin… my 73-year-old mother missed a step and fell shoulder-first into a parked car before rolling onto the concrete curb. I rushed her to the nearest hospital, which turned out to be this cesspool Henry Ford. After taking an EKG, we were left in a freezing cold hallway for 2 hours. My mother was in agony, but nobody checked on her. Then we were carted to a “room” where the attention was barely better than the hallway. Her pain kept growing and we felt completely alone. Once I got our nurse, she was great, but she was so stretched thin she barely had time for us. I’m sitting here with her right now still waiting for X-ray results. We’ve been here for 6 hours now and have not received the care I would expect or that she deserves. The nurses are saints, but the system is completely failing. Do not come here if you can avoid it. I would have gone almost anywhere else had I known what awaited us. Editing this review (1.5 hours later and I’m still here, so why not?). They just took my mother to get more X-rays. Again, 73 year old who’s been here all damn day in agony. Again, the nurses are trying, but my god, how is this possible? How can a place be so awful? So dirty? |

I recently visited Henry Ford for a specialized test and was very impressed with how organized and efficient everything was. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and I felt well taken care of throughout the whole process. |
I had a deeply concerning experience regarding the accuracy and handling of my medical record at Henry Ford Hospital. After filing a formal grievance in March 2025 regarding a nurse interaction (documented in writing), I later discovered in February 2026 that a “history of violence” flag had been added to my medical chart without my knowledge or notification. (clear retaliation) I requested documentation and evidence supporting this designation and was not provided any records showing incidents of violence or justification for the flag. Despite multiple follow-ups over several months, I did not receive clear answers or supporting documentation. I was later informed via email that the flag had been removed, but I was not provided an official written explanation or findings on hospital letterhead. Subsequent attempts to obtain formal clarification were not responded to. THEY BLOCKED MY EMAIL FROM CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.. How does that even look? Also their crooked executives do not see anything wrong with it! (another retaliation) This experience raises serious concerns for me about transparency, accuracy, and communication in patient record handling. Patients should be clearly informed when significant designations are added to their medical files and be able to access documentation supporting those decisions. If you are African American beware they are fast to label us when they get caught up doing something unethical and wrong. This is a no accountability hospital!
