I’ll fully own the fact that I mistakenly purchased the wrong Maryland CE package and didn’t realize the Fair Housing elective wasn’t included. That part is on me. What I find downright cruel and predatory is that the 3-hour Fair Housing course is $60 on its own — and even with the “discount” for having already taken it through the DC package, it still costs $34. Meanwhile, the exact same course in most other states runs $15–$17 (and some are as low as $4). The CE Shop is well aware that most agents in the DMV are licensed in all three jurisdictions — and it’s painfully obvious they’re taking advantage of that fact. This isn’t about policy. It’s about squeezing every last dollar from customers who have to complete these courses. I’ve used this company for years, but after this experience I’ll gladly take my business to a CE provider that actually values loyalty instead of preying on it.

One April 29, 2025 at 2 PM EST, I attended a zoom meeting for a Broker in Charge Update Course with a CE Shop instructor. I paid $63.67 on April 14, 2025 for the course, Order Number: 4769796. I fulfilled all of the North Carolina Real Estate Commission's requirements by attending the course. The instructor informed the class that no further action was necessary to receive reported credit for the course. He concluded by stating that an optional "final exam", which is a single question survey, would be available to us on our student portal at the CE Shop's website, which would allow us to receive confirmation for our own records that the class had been completed. It is June 2nd and my credit has not yet been reported to NCREC. I need this credit reported to maintain my real estate license in good standing. I have several complaints regarding this. Firstly, I have contacted CE Shop staff three times, both by phone and online chat to resolve this matter. Each time, I was told that someone would contact me by email. No one ever has. Secondly, the "final exam" survey never appeared in my student portal, as I was told it would. Staff advised me that I needed an access code. Access code to what? There is nowhere to enter an access code. The instructor said that a link would appear under the My Courses tab, but it is not there. Thirdly, no final exam or survey or any such thing is required by NCREC for credit for this course. I do not consent to any extra requirements being added to receive my credit for this course. Finally, I was told by an agent on the phone that someone would contact me within 72 hours to resolve this matter, but I waited a week and received no help. The failure of the CE Shop to even follow through on their promises to contact me promptly supports the conclusion that they do not take their obligations to their clients seriously. Anyone who trusts this company to provide them with their license requirements risks their professional credentials.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS “COURSE”. Nobody teaches you anything! If you want to learn something don’t waste your money with the CE Shop. They don’t care at all. There’s no audiobooks no real people, no class room, no zoom calls, no help. Just you and a bunch of reading. You can’t move forward if you don’t pass their little test and just more reading and reading. No questions no anything. You are better off studying on your own and purchasing a course that has a class room for your hours. Don’t make the same mistake I made and invest your money somewhere else. Good luck. Edit: their customer service won’t work with you either. They follow rules and don’t understand reason nor have critical thinking. It’s all fake.
