Hello Google Review Readers, This review is not what most folks would leave, but it could be an interesting read for some. Recently, I got an e-mail from NuVista, with the offer of a $50 gift card for leaving a 5-star review. Curious! Well, when I went to investigate, it is clear that NuVista has a "Google Review problem" (a 3.4 star overall rating). Oooof... That is not good, especially in a competitive banking environment. A quick review of banks in Montrose, Colorado indicates that the only lower-rated bank is Wells Fargo---sheesh... Well, no wonder they are asking their members to give them a hand! Further review of the Google Reviews (sort them by lowest first) indicates that the lower reviews (1-star and 2-star) tend to be older (>3years) with higher ones more recent. Isn't that interesting? So, are the higher rating a result of the NuVista's paid outreach to members or a real improvement in customer service? Tough to judge. I'll say that our experience with NuVista has pretty uniformly been good. They were pretty good with transfers from our credit union in Virginia and payments related our house purchase here, although they are somewhat annoying with check holds (especially in our modern, instant-clearing interstate check environment). Staff have been helpful, and the online banking is pretty good (says my wife). So 4-stars. I won't give a 5-star review b/c of a few minor, less-than great customer service experiences, and for "incentivizing" members to leave 5-star reviews. But know this, I'm not entering myself into the $50 gift "give-away," so this is NOT a paid endorsement. Besides, since it's a 4-star review, I don't think I'm eligible... And my suggestion for NuVista staff is to ask members to leave the review that best reflects their experience, with no "financial incentive". It clouds the authentic and transparent understanding that people who might choose NuVista for banking services want to have prior to making that choice. Kind regards,
