While I rarely leave one-star reviews, I feel compelled to share my frustration with this apartment management to inform future tenants. On day one, I visited the complex, received a tour, and was given all the information and a rental quote. Six days later, when I called to follow up, I was told that someone else was applying for the same unit and that I would be updated the following day. When I called again the next day to request a six-month lease quote—and noticed the unit was still available—not only was an additional $100 monthly service fee added (which I understand), but the base rent was also increased by $170 per month. Yes, I understand that quotes can expire, but this all happened in less than a week, right after there was some interest in that apartment and ironically while the property was advertising “special pricing” and promotions on its website in the slow month of January! This felt extremely unprofessional and misleading. PS: Jayden, who gave me the tour, was very helpful and pleasant. My disappointment is solely with management.

Altitude 970 is a great and safe place to live! The apartments are in great condition and very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My wife and children enjoy living here and are happy to call this place our home. It is nicely tucked away in a quiet and family friendly area of Kansas City away from downtown but close enough to visit. I highly recommend living at Altitude 970. I almost forgot to mention that the maintenance team is great. They are very friendly and helpful and resolve issues in a fast and efficient manner. We are so happy here we decided to renew our lease for a second year. Thank you Altitude team you are appreciated.

Josh was timely and considerate and resolved the issues. It was unexpected to receive a new dryer but was so helpful to not have to wait on the part as I was very behind on my laundry. The shower drain is also not backing up any more!

Lived here for about a year and a half. I did love it at first… however management changed a couple of times while living there. A lot of hidden fees and policy changes. They got “valet trash” which everyone was required to pay for and if you left your bin out past 9am it’s a $50 fee. I once got a text by 9:10 that I would have a $50 fee on my account because I hadn’t returned home to bring it back inside (I work overnight), they blame the valet company but I have the same service at my current apartment and no such late fees exist. Internet was included when I moved in, in the middle of living there it became a $60/mo fee. My rent went up while they were still listing my same apartment lay out for the original price I was paying on their website. Just felt super shady. To top it all off, when moving out I was informed I would be receiving my deposit back shortly after. I moved out September 1st. I still haven’t received a check (It’s November 19th) for this deposit even though they notified me it was sent out on October 10th. I have read some reviews here and on other websites like the Better Business Bureau & it appears they are in the business of stealing. What a shame! Seemed like a nice place, but I’d say you could find the same quality (or better) for a better price with less random fees and respectable management. I am editing this review 12/4 with updates - My check was finally received 12/3. I spoke with the property manager Brody and he was very kind and responsive about this matter. I will say I still believe while this property is under BAM management it is not somewhere I would recommend living, however the property itself is wonderful, great location & seemingly great staff! I hope they are able to find a new management company to take over to improve tenant satisfaction.

Altitude 970 is an excellent place to call home. The office is staffed with wonderful individuals, including Ashley, Brody, and Gaby, who are all professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. The grounds are well-maintained, and the units come with nice amenities at an affordable rent. Maintenance requests are handled quickly and efficiently, and Alonzo and Josh are always professional and approachable, encouraging residents to reach out with any issues. I've also experienced kindness from the neighbors. I truly enjoy being part of this community and highly recommend Altitude 970! If you visit, be sure to ask for Gaby—she is fantastic! Moniqua A.

Altitude 970 is a great place to live for its location and convenience. The apartments are spacious with good layouts and equipped with standard kitchen appliances. In-unit washers and dryers are a wonderful amenity. The staff in the manager’s office are professional, friendly and ready to help. The maintenance staff are knowledgeable, highly responsive, and they thoughtfully notify you ahead of their arrival. The outward appearance of the complex is pleasant, well landscaped and maintained. I have seen the Altitude 970 staff make it a point to pickup the wayward bit of trash and proactively keep a tidy appearance. However there is the occasional dead and burned out shrub that needs to be removed and replaced. The clubhouse is nicely decorated and the amenities are clean and well maintained. The complex is eight years old and showing wear and tear in my building. The carpeting in the foyer and public spaces is dirty and worn down in high traffic areas. The situation does not make a good impression, nor is it in keeping with a luxury experience. Overall, I recommend Altitude 970 as a nice, quiet, and comfortable place to live.
