I am very disappointed with how this college handles financial aid. Students are supposed to receive their aid a week before classes begin, but instead we now have to wait until after we’ve already been in class for two weeks. This is the second time the school has done this. Many of us rely on financial aid to cover bills, rent, food, and basic living expenses. Delaying these disbursements puts unnecessary stress on students who are just trying to focus on their education. It feels like the school is playing with our money, and it shows a lack of respect for students and their needs. This situation is unacceptable, and unless changes are made, I cannot rate this school any higher than 1 star.

CSN is a great college! The professors are knowledgeable and helpful, and the campus is beautiful. I would highly recommend CSN to anyone looking to further their education.

I had a bad experience with this school and it resulted in me not wanting to continue. I don't feel like it's worth the money that I paid. Unresponsive student government who were never at their stations whenever I showed up to pick up the ID that I paid for. I received emails for months telling me that my financial aid was about to be canceled if I didn't send in my transcripts, and after I resolved the issue I continued to receive these emails throughout the semester and they said it was a glitch. I contacted, made appointments with, and worked with multiple different departments for help with class selection and still was given the wrong answer, resulting in more money out of my pocket and nothing to show for it. Maybe it's a sign from God before I wasted much more money. The only good thing that came out of this was their affordable living agreement with NSU. I did meet some staff that truly wanted to be helpful. But this really turned me off from this school.

CSN is a joke. I had put a course I was looking at taking in the cart but did not proceed to go through with it. Fast forward to September of 2023 where I get a bill from CSN for one online course for around $300. Not once did I know they had finalized me into that class. Never received any emails or phone calls regarding this class so I received an F for a class that I didn’t even know my login to the CSN email or to take that course! Tried to dispute but since I don’t have any “proof”, it was denied and sent me to collections. Not sure how to give proof of something that I never received any notification about a class. Now I’m out a few hundred dollars for a class I didn’t even take.

CSN exceeded my expectations. The resources available to students are excellent, and I felt supported throughout my time there. I would definitely choose CSN again for my education.

This place completely screwed me over. I'm from California and I started college out there. Came to Nevada to be with family and wanted to continue my education. I enrolled in my first semester and got set up with financial aid. I thought all was good until I went to buy books and they said i couldn't use my financial aid for the books. I would have to pay out of pocket and be reimbursed later... In California, financial aid does not work this way and this absolutely baffled me. I don't get help from family as my family is poor. I work to try to help pay theirs and my own bills. I cannot just afford $800+ worth of books without notice. So I dropped out of the semester with W's. I received no financial aid, but I had been approved for it. Somehow, despite not having received any financial aid, I now OWE them what I got approved for...??? I couldn't even afford my books so of course I couldn't afford to pay a couple thousand in financial aid that I never received. So naturally, the school sent it to collections and it is now ruining my credit. No education, no financial aid. Just debt.

The campus is pretty nice and some of the people in the registrar office and financial aid were friendly and helpful. The bad thing that made me really dislike there offices was the financial aid process, I finished my paper work and then they told me it would take 2 to 4 weeks for them to scan my paperwork and then give me my aid. It was awful, I have attended two other community colleges and they had my paperwork done within a week or less. I almost couldn't keep my classes because not only were they making me wait to do something simple but they didn't even try to find a way to help me keep my classes. Basically in short there offices are awful when it comes to getting things done, but the campus and my teachers so far are good.
