Bestow was emailed a cancellation request in January 2026 as I was replacing the insurance coverage. Bestow responded days later via email they needed additional information to cancel the policy, my dob, policy number, last 4 of my social, etc. After sending that by email, they emailed me and said now I had to call them to cancel the policy. So Bestow is dealing with a credit card dispute and a department of insurance complaint for their deceptive cancellation policy. They tried to call me to cancel the policy the following month on a recorded line but refused to honor the prior months cancellation by email so they could try and keep the stolen money so I would accept the later cancellation charge. It is interesting they found the time to call the following month after the prior emails. I declined their late cancellation and told them to deal with the fraudulent charge issue along with the department of insurance complaint instead. They try to make you jump through hoops to keep you in their "gym membership billing program." Edward Davidson

I've had insurance with this company for 2yrs. an oversite on my payment that was auto drafting with a old debt card caused the policy of 2yrs to terminate with 2 past due payments. I contacted Bestow to simply reinstate my account. A reinstatement form was sent to me, I sent it back and was awaiting to make the payment. I called to follow up..In the process of reinstating the account, under-writing choice to get a background check on me through a company called Miliman Intelliscript records and told me something was on the report that will NOT allow them to reinstate my account and they could NOT tell me what and If I want them to reconsider again, I would have to request a report from Milliman Intelliscript. Nothing has changed with Me at all, no medical conditions, nothing life threatening etc, but I called Milliman Intelliscript and asked what could have been revealed to Bestow to keep me from reinstating my policy, They told me that they DO not make the decision on the policy, but they would send me a copy of the report sent to the insurance company. I resent the information to Bestow with all the information including the information that I got from Milliman, of which I have no idea how to read the content of the information on the report honestly and mailed it, as bestow underwriting can not be reached by phone to even help me navigate through the information. This is the next email I received from BESTOW.. COMPANY I PAID FOR 2YRS. This letter is in response to your request to appeal the underwriting decision rendered on the above referenced application for life insurance with Bestow. The decision was based on a report obtained from Milliman IntelliScript, the medications that had caused the decision were: HYDROXYZINE HYDROCHLORIDE HYDROXYZINE PAMOATE If the information contained within the report is not accurate, you are entitled to dispute the inaccurate information with Milliman IntelliScript. Once the information has been veried as inaccurate and removed from your Milliman Intelliscript records, you have the option to reapply for coverage with Bestow. Bestow was unable to issue coverage due to information disclosed in your application. Bestow’s underwriting guidelines have been reviewed for the specic answer that resulted in the application being declined. The original underwriting decision is conrmed and the request for an appeal is closed. I AM NOT ON MEDICATION AND HAVE NEVER TOOK THE 2 MEDICATIONS ON THIS LETTER. I called customer service for her to tell me. #1- manager is not availabe #2-underwriting will NOT talk to you directly #3- when the manager calls you back, he will not be able to help you and he will tell you exactly what I told you, which was write another letter and mail it to the same address i mailed last 2 times. THIS IS REALLY AWFUL AND I JUST DON'T THINK THIS IS OK TO HANDLE PEOPLE LIKE THIS.

I’m livid with this company and I never write reviews. After years of contributing to a policy for my husband, they are cancelling my policy because I misspoke saying “I” filled out the policy form when I meant “we”, even though I clarified I misspoke. As a stay at home Mom, I would depend on this policy if anything happened to my husband, God forbid. When I spoke to John G at Bestow, he was rude, sighing loudly at everything I said. I told him a close relative passed away and he didn’t even acknowledge it with a response. It was also very hard to get ahold of someone there, it took 5 calls in a period of 24 hours. The customer service was good before we created the policy, now it’s subpar. Seems like this is just another greedy company only interested in their profits and care nothing for their customers.

I don’t recommend this company to anyone. I clearly do not smoke and there was honestly a mistake made on my medical records, but they sent me a letter last second letting me know they’re getting rid of me and not giving me enough time to even figure out who made the mistake so I could fix it. I’m sure if they looked at my medical records better they would see where I had told the doctors many times that I am not a smoker and that I am a ex-smoker and on their website, it said that if I haven’t smoked in the past 12 months that I am OK to get non-smoking insurance, I believe that they really wanted to help their customers they would give them more time to figure out how to resolve an issue like this.

Danger. Do not trust them. Find a more reputable company. They cancelled my policy after two years with no notice for spurious reasons. I have no confidence they would’ve paid out if I had a legitimate claim based on my limited dealings with their employees. Glad to be getting rid of them. Edit: ignore their canned response claiming they don’t cancel policies without notice for illegitimate reasons. They absolutely do. It happened to me. Do not trust a company that will drop you without notice. I have carried multiple policies from multiple companies for decades and dealing with this company is horrific. Be warned. Choose a more reputable company. They were my backup and I had never heard of them before signing up. Now I know to stick with the tried and true companies.
