This university acknowledged my unaccompanied homelessness and that my apartment styled dorm was the only space preventing me from being on the streets. Yet the residence life office, despite being one of the two offices that verified my homelessness, still demanded I declutter the space in a short timeframe, and they sided with my apartment mate who not only called the RA and staff on me just for crying in my room, but he also later yelled at me directly and ragequit because I was crying. Said office also referred me to student conduct instead of helping me with basic needs. The financial aid office interviewed me about my homelessness and yet still demanded third party documentation I couldn’t get, and even suggested I take out a private loan to cover the balance. I am so sad and disappointed that I have to drop out for the sake of my safety. If this university claims it’s inclusive and diverse, my experience was anything but that. It was a very traumatizing experience that left me heartbroken and shattered. If you are a nontraditional student in any form, please RUN FAR away from the dorms at this university. And if your a nontraditional student under 24, don’t bother with this school until the FAFSA automatically considers you independent at age 24.

Rutgers University does not care about its students, at the very least it does not care about its black or queer students. Mortimer Wortman went missing on November 21st and the university waited almost a week to take any action or release a statement because they were too busy promoting their Black Friday merchandise and deleting comments from people asking them to take action. Once they did finally release a statement, they directed people to the Jackson NJ PD who is NOT handling Mortimer's case, the Ocean County sheriff's office is. And on top of all of that, they couldn't even get his name right in their statement sent to students. Their priority is money, not the welfare of the community they claim to protect.

Basic hotel that must have once been a student dormitory. Rooms are basic, but have the usual amenities. AC iinstalled recently, and you could order food delivery from a DoorDash. Inexpensive, private parking and on Rutgers New Brunswick campus.

The education you get here will be pretty damn good, and I love the flexibility of being admitted by school, not major. That being said the quality of life on campus has to be the worst experience you will get anywhere. I guess it builds character and makes you more resilient, but man will you be miserable. There is a reason the term RUscrew is so popular.

I have had a great experience at Rutgers so far. The campus is lively and there are always events happening. The faculty are supportive and the resources available to students are endless. I am proud to be a Scarlet Knight!

Rutgers NB houses the oldest Queens College campus. It has 3 campuses in close proximity. Building style ranges from old Victorian to modern glass. Kirkpatrick Chapel, the Gothic Revival chapel on Old Queen’s campus, is another type that can be found. It’s a pretty open campus but if you're close by, you might want to check out Princeton. The architecture will take your breath away!

The best university in New Jersey and one the top public institutions in country. So big that there are 5 different campuses in the New Brunswick/Piscataway. A lot of great days on College Ave and Douglass and there is bus service to each part of campus which offers different things according to interests. Loved the football stadium as well

For 4 years Rutgers was our home, and the center of our family life. Our eldest children grew up here and the youngest was born. It was a wonderful life experience as a family, as people and students. Life at Johnson apartments was happy, with difficult moments of adaptation but definitely a great challenge. Being a family programmer on campus was an amazing experience where we enjoyed many moments with families from all over the world.Thanks Rutgers for those years!!
