Quaint inn, first time staying. I liked the look of the room. The service was good. They have a cheese and wine reception. That was very nice. It was difficult finding my way around as the floors are not like a hotel. You can walk in and out of the building to get to your room. My room was very nice. Loved the bathroom! However my bed was not comfortable. I woke several times throughout the night. The continental breakfast was okay. The staff at front desk were very nice. I would love to come back ..but the bed is a huge turn off. A few other people in my group (we were there for a conference) said they didn't sleep well either. |

Full of character & charm, this is a unique hotel built within the original textile mills of the Salem area. Walking distance to Old Salem & many restaurants. Rooms are spacious & well appointed. The bed was particularly comfortable. Each evening, the onsite lounge offers one free wine or beer with cheese & crackers. Free breakfast is pretty comprehensive, with eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy plus other cold options. Bedtime, fresh cookies & milk are complimentary in the common area, which is comfortably furnished. Friendly, professional staff. Can’t say enough about this unique property. |

We had a wonderful stay at The Historic Brookstown Inn | Trademark Collection by Wyndham in Winston-Salem over the New Year. We stayed in the East Wing, and from the moment we arrived, the historic charm of the property was unmistakable—you truly feel the history as you walk through the buildings and grounds. Misty, the bartender, was fantastic and did a great job setting up the cheese and wine, which was a really nice touch and a great way to relax in the evening. My wife and I also found the location very walkable, which we appreciated since we enjoy exploring on foot. The complimentary breakfast was phenomenal—especially the sausages, which were honestly some of the best we’ve had anywhere. There were only two minor negatives worth mentioning. The bed in our room was a bit lumpy, and the tree uplighting outside our room (154) pointed directly into the window. Unfortunately, the blinds didn’t fully block out the brightness at night. Neither issue detracted significantly from our overall experience, but they’re worth noting. All in all, this is a unique, charming, and memorable place to stay. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a historic and comfortable stay in Winston-Salem. |

You can’t go wrong with Brookstown Inn! This is our third visit and it did not disappoint. The rooms and atmosphere are homey and have a historic feel with the exposed beams from the original mill. The staff are superb, not to mention the amenities like a warm breakfast and cookies at bedtime. We love the quaint, delicious Italian restaurant across the street, Di Lisio’s as well. |

Stayed here on a trip to Old Salem! So many amazing amenities! Free HOT breakfast in the morning. Every night 5-7pm they offered a FREE complimentary glass of house wine or beer. And also for your sweet tooth they offer freshly baked cookies and milk( or hot chocolate, coffee , hot tea) from 8-9pm! Definitely recommend staying here! Decorated very beautifully for Christmas |

Absolutely awesome stay. Room 221 in the conference rooms wing had HUGE ceilings. Lotsa room to spread out. Architecture in the room was awesome. The running water sounds in the room were a bit un-nerving at first, but were like white noise - so we slept soundly all night. Breakfast was good and all you could eat, with coffee, tea, bacon, biscuits & sausage gravy (bit stingy on the sausage, but heck- it’s free) and scrambled eggs. Nice breakfast dining room & reception room. And they have a HOTEL CAT, and we saw “Miss Sally” as we drove in… but she was apparently busy with other meetings. ;) I give it a 10/10. Highly recommended, would definitely return. ($134/night on hotels dot com) |

Let me just say—I've traveled extensively, and this hotel stands out as one of my absolute favorites in North Carolina. From the moment we arrived on September 8, 2025, the experience was exceptional. The young man who checked us in delivered top-tier customer service. He was not only professional but also incredibly knowledgeable about the area, offering great recommendations for local dining spots. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the compassion and respect shown to my adult son, who has cerebral palsy. The same young man worked both nights of our visit and went above and beyond to ensure my son felt welcomed and valued—not just as a guest, but as a person. That kind of kindness is rare and deeply appreciated. For the adults, happy hour was a lovely touch. And for the kids and non-drinkers, the hotel offered milk and cookies—a sweet gesture that made everyone feel included. The entire staff was friendly, warm, and genuinely caring. It was such a refreshing experience. If you're considering a place to stay, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. You won’t regret it. |

Clean, comfortable rooms with charming decor. The location is perfect for exploring downtown Winston-Salem. The free breakfast was a nice touch. 5 stars! |
Convenient location to Old Salem, walking distance. Our room on the 2nd floor was spacious, clean and well appointed. Wine/Cheese reception in the evening was a nice touch. Hot breakfast in the morning was perfect too. Because it is an old building, we could hear other guests walking around above us but things settled down by evening - this was not an issue, simply setting expectations for other review readers. All the staff from the minute we walked in to when we left was very welcoming and kind. We will definitely stay here again.
