Don't use WPEngine. My site was transferred off WPEngine, and I realized the account wasn't closed after being billed when not using the service. I emailed to cancel, and was told someone will be touch regarding my "request". This is in line with all the experiences you'll have at WPEngine. It's not customer friendly, and the policies are organized to maximize their profit at your expense. As a webhost, they are bloated and overpriced. Google WPEngine webhost reviews and visit Reddit or any other site with real customers, and you'll see the reviews are overwhelmingly negative. I had someone reach out to me regarding my cancellation, and I was still billed for my last month because I didn't provide 30 days of notice. No option to pro-rate my final 30 days. They had 27 days of notice. Don't use WP Engine as a web hosting service. Go with any other provider. Check reviews for yourself and you'll see what I'm saying.

WP Engine has completely lost my trust. Today, my website was offline for over three hours without any prior warning or notification. When I reached out to customer support for an explanation, I was informed that the outage was due to scheduled server maintenance. This is the second outage in a single week, and these disruptions are severely damaging my Google ranking. Frequent downtime makes my site appear unreliable to visitors, which directly impacts my business. Proper communication is crucial in such situations. WP Engine should have informed me in advance about the maintenance to allow me to prepare for the downtime. In my decades of hosting a website since 1998, I have never encountered "scheduled maintenance" that requires a site to be offline for hours. This level of service is unacceptable. Businesses rely on hosting providers to ensure their websites remain operational, and this failure reflects poorly on WP Engine's customer support. Taking a business website offline without warning is a serious breach of trust. Companies depend on hosting providers to maintain uptime, and this kind of unannounced disruption undermines that trust completely. I will be sharing my experience publicly to raise awareness about this unacceptable lack of communication and service. WP Engine must do better; businesses deserve reliability and respect, not unnecessary setbacks caused by poor communication and inadequate support.
