I asked on Nextdoor where I could find a reasonably priced hat, preferably an outback style hat (looks like a cowboy style, but has a shorter rim) and someone told me about here. No outback styles, just extremely overpriced straw and felt cowboy hats. I needed the hat for actual work using a whip. The hat, is to protect your ears. Why on earth would I pay over 100 bucks for a straw hat that would get obliterated in one miss. The felt hats? I dont think I saw one under 200 and others were even more expensive. And the other negative reviews are right. Customer service is pretty much nonexistent. Solution? I got an amazing felt cowboy hat, my size and shaped for like 60 bucks at cb finchers western wear, right down the street. The woman there was super helpful, kind, and fun to talk to. Then I went online and got a leather outback hat from Conner for 100. ... two great hats for less than the price of one from here.

Hello to the whole Allan lid team, myself, my wife and my daughter all went to the pop up at Myrtle Avenue brewery in Jax. The event started at 2pm and we arrived at 7pm and we stepped up to the counter to get a hat at midnight by the time we got in to pick a hat and get it shaped there was not much to choose from but i found one I liked ok and would have been pretty happy with. The guy at the counter could tell I was not completely happy and knew I liked the style he was wearing I loved the shape style and color. So while we were talking he literally took his brand new hat off of his head and sold it to me without a second thought. It completely made our families night and they will have customers for life. I just wanted to praise the whole team that was in Jacksonville, Florida they were super friendly from the beginning all the way to midnight Joking and laughing with us the whole time what a great experience and glad we stuck it out. P.S Alan don’t under estimate Florida we love a good hat company lol

Just received my hat! Probably the easiest hat purchase I’ve ever had. Even though I ordered it on the phone,the color,size and shape were perfect. Lexie was most professional and made the experience so easy! The shipping took some time but I don’t believe that’s their fault,usps is just too dang slow! My wife and I went there this weekend and bought my new hat. We had a great time visiting with Alan and his staff. He fit my new hat to me personally. If you’ve seen him on TikTok & fallen for his charm, be ready to be amazed because he’s the exact same in person. He said hi to all of us as soon as he came out & shook all of our hands. I had been wanting a hat from Alan’s Lids for a little over a year now but had not had the chance to make the drive to Crowley.
