We got a room on the 12th floor (the elevators are super fast). It's one of the rooms at the very point end of the building. It's very oddly shaped with a concrete pillar and pretty small. Comfortable bed, nice shower, decent view. It has two balconies; one at either end of the room. I do wish that hotels would provide more than one towel bar for couples. Also a couple of hooks at the vanity to hang a toiletries bag (especially since there is very little counter space in the bathroom) A very nice property overall. Great location relative to the bay and the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego.

Amazing stay! The hotel was spotless and beautifully maintained. The location is perfect and the place looks stunning. The staff were extremely friendly and professional — especially the front desk team, the bellman, and the housekeeping staff who did a fantastic job. Highly recommend this hotel!

Do not stay at this hotel. If you’re looking for a place that will overcharge you and then keep an extra $800 without returning it — this is the place. My husband and I have been trying for over two months to get back the $800 we were overcharged. We have called eight times, wasted countless hours, and every single time we are told: “Yes, of course, we’ll take care of it, someone will get back to you.” No one ever does. This experience has completely erased anything positive the hotel might offer. At this point, I don’t even remember the room, the amenities, or anything about the stay itself — all I remember is spending two months chasing my own money. That is how much this situation affects you. The customer service is absolutely terrible — the worst I’ve ever experienced in my life. The front desk staff, the reception, the overall communication — everything is broken. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing, and no one takes responsibility or follows up. It feels like they simply don’t care. We travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels around the world. We have never had an experience this bad. I will never return to this hotel. Not only that, I will never recommend it to anyone. Stay far away from this place if you don’t want to deal with financial issues, ignored calls, false promises, and months of frustration over money that is rightfully yours. Absolutely unacceptable.

As a Marriott Titanium Elite member, I expect a certain baseline, especially at a Marquis-level property. The hotel itself is beautiful and the location is excellent. The waterfront setting, scale of the property, and overall atmosphere are genuinely impressive. Unfortunately, the elite experience here falls far short. The M Club is advertised as open 24/7, yet over the weekend there was effectively no service at all. No breakfast. No snacks. No refreshments. Nothing. This is easily the worst M Club lounge experience I’ve had across the Marriott portfolio, including far lower-tier properties. The room experience was equally disappointing. No meaningful upgrade. No bottled water. No glassware. No real cups. Just two disposable cardboard cups for three guests. When I went to the front desk to request additional cups and water, I was told I would need to pay and go to another outlet in the hotel, which was closed at the time. I also asked about complimentary breakfast since the M Club offered nothing, and was told the only compensation available was 1,000 Bonvoy points. That response is frankly unacceptable. For a Marquis property charging premium rates, this feels careless and cheap. That’s the frustrating part. This hotel could easily deliver a five-star experience if ownership invested in basic standards and elite hospitality. Instead, it feels like a great physical asset being operated with minimal regard for elite members and guests paying premium rates for a luxury property. I wanted to love this stay. The property has all the potential. But until Marriott Titanium benefits are taken seriously here, I would not consider this a flagship-level experience.

Daniela & Carlos were excellent at the front desk. Daniela was kind enough to introduce us to M Club. This was added bonus when traveling for a work trip with my wife and infant son. They were both kind and attentive. The whole staff was great and courteous. Carlos provided a small credit due to wi-fi issues which was nice to see. Berkeley in the valet services was also kind and helpful. Overall, the hotel was great, location a plus being by the water and this is a nice hotel to amenities onsite. I wish I would have checked out the Top Golf simulator. :)

My family and I had a fantastic stay here this summer (summer of 2025). Location was nice. Room was nice. Staff was great. Spent a lot of time at the pool, ate ate on site and local restaurants, bummed we didn't hit a Padres game but there's always next time.

Stayed three nights for a conference. It was lovely! Staff were warm and welcoming. Managed large conference check-in efficiently. My King North Tower room had an amazing view of the harbor and Coronado, sunrise and sunset views! The room was immaculate and quiet. The air quality was perfect. I have asthma and very sensitive to molds and chemicals, it was the best air I've had the pleasure of breathing in a long time. IYKYK. Bed was so comfortable, great blackout drapes, slept amazingly well. I have Celiac, the food at the on site restaurants was expensive and limited, but no biggie as so much amazing food nearby. Conference meals did include some gluten free options every day and were tasty. Excellent location. Walking distance to the Gas Lamp district, Seaport Village, and Marina. A quick car ride or ferry to Coronado. Less than ten minutes to the airport. The pool area was beautiful, felt like a tropical vacation. Came for business, but I'd come back for pleasure!

I stayed at the Marriott Marquis San Diego for a conference. Everyone associated with the hotel, from the front desk staff to the event staff to the housekeepers provided excellent service. I had lunch at the Marina Kitchen and the food and service was excellent. My group came back later in the evening for dessert and drinks and again, received excellent service. The managers, Sarah and Steve checked on our group a few times and created a welcoming environment for our group to enjoy the evening. We had a great time and appreciate the attentiveness of the managers and servers. I will definitely be back!
