I've worked with SEO for several years. As a marketing manager my company decided to hire them to help bring in more organic traffic for our site. We had used other SEO firms in the past and were not pleased, as the consultants would usually come in and meet with us and promise to do a lot, get us a lot of great links, etc... but they never actually did those things.
