Shawn should add the word "adventures" to the end of his company name .. we met Shawn at the dock communication was spot on his timing was spot on and Shawn made sure my wife and three daughters felt comfortable and confident in him and his boat before even leaving the dock .. Shawn took myself and three girlfriends out for a perfect Fall sail. He let us assist with the sailing, and when we were ready to sit on the front and enjoy our music and cocktails, took back the tiller and we had a great time. He pointed out lighthouses and told us about the bay and various islands. Such a great day on the water!

If you’ve never sailed before or are just looking for some more time at sea, identify as male, and can make it to coastal Maine for a weekend in 2 weeks, I highly recommend Shawn’s “Voyage towards the sacred masculine” trip to you. I just got back from Shawn’s first one of these trips this season and it was an absolute blast! Shawn is an awesomely laid back and chill captain with the intuitive ability to keep everyone safe at sea while letting them test the safe limits of their own comfort and the boat, the scenery was stunning, the sailing conditions phenomenal, and the company was great. I went into this trip much more for the sailing than for any particular interest I had in unpacking toxic masculinity, but the conversations we had definitely helped me get to know a group of guys I had just met over the course of two days and I walked away from the experience with four new meaningful friendships on top of two days of awesome sailing. As my career coach once said, “a bargain at twice the price”, this trip is a particular bargain at $300 for 2 days including all food. Shawn let me helm the boat way more than my fair share of the time, decide when to tack (for the most part), let me instruct the rest of the crew in the trimming of sails, set and weigh anchor, and he told me I could weigh anchor and set sail while on watch (even if he never thought I’d actually do it 😛). You will come away from this trip with as much sailing experience as you care to gain (as can be gained in a 31 hour period). If I didn’t have family coming in from out of town in 2 weeks, I’d definitely be occupying one of the two remaining slots on this trip.

The 2 day overnight sailing trip was amazing. The seafarer knowledge of Captain Shawn and the ability to teach made for an exceptional experience. We saw native Maine marine life such as seals and harbor porpoises. The porpoises were my favorite. I will definitely book another trip.
