First off, I would like to give the glory and honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus for giving me good health and a sound mind to pass my New Jersey Accident and Health test on the first attempt. I also thank him for directing me to Xcel Solutions prelicensing course. In spite of the negative reviews, their low rating here and on other platforms, Xcel Solutions had prepared me well for the NJ Accident and Health exam. This is the first online self study course of a complex subject I've taken and finished outside a class setting. It works if you do. If you haven't already, you will read that they are a scam. They are NOT a scam in any shape or form. You will read that their course material is the worst, horrible to read, and so on, it IS NOT. Did I have some challenges understanding certain content? just a little, but for the most part, the content they provided was solid and right on point. Side note: I was told that their website will be updating soon, which means those minor errors will be corrected. What they have done well was reduced a large amount of study material into bite size pieces, making it less demanding to absorb what is already a large and complex subject matter. Although some chapters could use further breakdowns, it is better than all the other prelicensing courses I've seen. So for all of the people you see complaining about baseless things, it's NOT Xcel Solutions. It's them. You have to put in the work to pass. XcelSolutions has all the tools for you to do just that. What would I suggest Xcel Solutions do for a better customer experience when updating their site? Have a night and day mode to toggle either preference. I have floaters, so night mode would make it easier to get through. A bookmark function to return to the areas needing more study time and understanding. Prevent the site from timing out too soon and provide a "are you still there" notice, or just have no timer. It doesn't matter if they are there or not because they will have to read the material in order to complete the course. In other words, timing it out has no benefit to anyone, it is only frustrating to the user. Create your content in easy to understand terms, which you have for the most part. Because XcelSolutions well prepared me for the accident and health exam, I am now taking their Property and Casualty course, and it is definitely well written, more simplified, underlined, and bolded with important areas. The P&C course is a much more pleasant read and structure. With that said, I highly recommend Xcel Solutions over any other prelicensing course for your insurance prep exam. Do NOT use this course! Every single chapter's practice exam has questions entirely unrelated to the chapter you just read. All the information you need to pass each chapter's exam is in the next chapter and you can't access it until you pass the previous one! There are countless grammatical and spelling errors and customer service was completely unhelpful. I am on a deadline and stressed out. I have to Google everything in order to proceed with this course. Do not waste $204 on this course, look elsewhere! I never write bad reviews!

Xcel Solutions is the worst Insurance Licensing Prep program available. Look at America's Professor or Kaplan first; you won't be disappointed! After the initial purchase, I couldn't get into the program, so I contacted Customer Service via email as they requested. The first response I received was telling me that it may take up to 48 hours to respond to my request. I then received a follow-up email that read: Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for reaching out to us! We have received your message. Due to the launch of our new website, and Student and Admin Portals, we are currently experiencing an increased volume of inquiries. Please know that your request is important to us, and we are working hard to respond to everyone as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to assisting you soon. Best regards, XCEL Customer Support Team The clock was ticking on my 30-day program and I didn't have time to wait for assistance. Therefore, I called customer service, and after waiting for 10 minutes on "hold," I spoke with a CSR and requested a refund for the program. Instead of an apology for all the inconvenience, I was told that I would be charged a 25% fee. Instead of receiving a refund for $105, I was getting $80. Please do not give this company a penny of your money. There are clearly some major issues with this "SCAM" of a company, and they should be investigated by the BBB.

Possibly the worst company I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. Bought several courses which were unusable. Once you login, it would immediately log you out. If it didn’t do that, it would crash when you tried to go into the source materials. Reset password countless times and the problems still persisted. Customer service is extremely hard to get in touch with. They will NEVER return customer service emails, and it takes 1-2 hours waiting on hold on the phone to get in touch with someone who will tell you to delete cache and cookies.

If you put the work in and know all the questions they ask, you'll be fine. I suggest taking each exam, whether it's the chapter exam, practice exams...all of it...if you take them multiple times you'll start getting familiar with ALL of their questions. If you only take them once you don't get all the questions they ask. There were still a decent amount of questions on the test that weren't on the course work but if you know all the answer in the course, you WILL pass the state exam...if you're in Ohio at least.
