Dakota Gonzales went above and beyond to help me. I was frustrated that Vexus cut my line and I needed to schedule a technician to come to my house. He handled everything and was so nice about helping me. He made my transition to Optimum so easy and pleasant. I can’t recommend him enough!

We've been with Optimum/Suddenlink for almost 11 years. The service is off an on. We now have Vero Fiber available in our area and had been contemplating switching. Today (12/10/2025) the internet went out around 1130. Contacted chat support and they said no outages and they couldn't fix it. The soonest a tech could get out was 12/16/2025. My husband calls because we pay almost $150 so theres no excuse to be out service for a week. The person basically tells him theres nothing they can do. He calls Vero and they say they'll be out Monday to get us set up for $80/month with 1 month free. He calls back and tries to cancel and the guy tells him he can't talk to him because the account is in my name. Ok fine. I tell the guy I just want to cancel. He keeps talking over me and so my husband tells him we're canceling. The guy hung up on us. We call back and the new person keeps repeating promos and trying to avoid the cancelation. He says he has to talk to me and keeps repeating the same stuff. Then he says he can't cancel because of xyz. Then I get put on hold and transfer to billing. They have no idea what's going on and transfer me. Then I have to go over everything again and that person tries all the promos. She says we have a week from the last day of the billing cycle to return hardware but the previous guy said its due on the last day of the cycle or before. I tell her they need better training so the correct can be given and she argued with me. Finally got to the person to actually cancel and he kept offering promos and I told him I've talked to 6-7 people, I've been on the phone for 3 hours. Enough. Just cancel. They don't want to put in effort until you're annoyed and mad that you've spoken to 4+ people for hours and now they wanna lower your bills to keep a loyal member. The first 2 people should have escalated it when we asked and mentioned switching. Terrible customer service.

A total rip off a week ago I had almost 200 to be caught up on my bill times been tough but then today I get told that I’m supposed pay 112.66 to get my WiFi turned back on when I literally just paid it and it’s no where near the due day for my next payment when I called they constantly kept asking me if I could make a payment and I told them I don’t have money for it they wanted the money more then trying to help me get down to the problem And was told in a letter that a payment was returned but never received the refund. Seems like a scam to me if you ask me. Never recommend optimum.

I typically don't give bad reviews. However Optimum customer service is the worst for the online reps. Customer service overall is poor at best. Multiple times a day I was having to reach out to different reps to resolve issues, that were only short term fixes. When a lighting storm sent a surge that knocked out my previous router, I was told I'd have to pay a service charge for someone to go out and look at it, and another charge to replace the box. Why should the customer be punished for a literal force of nature? In addition to the poor experiences, I went ahead and got WiFi through someone else. Which has support 24/7 and same day service if needed. When going to cancel my services it took roughly and hour to do so because of all the promos and offers they kept trying to give me. Even though I had clearly stated multiple times I just wanted to discontinue service and had already lined up someone else to do so. When a customer says they are done with a service and wants to discontinue service, it isn't an invitation to keep the on the line for an hour and have two different reps try to sell them on more.
